Here’s How You Will Earn Your Acupuncture Certification Through This Program

This program has been approved as a complete Program by the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners & the South Dakota Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

This program is approved through PACE – Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. Find out if your state accepts PACE at this link. We recommend you check with your state licensing board for their acupuncture and distance learning eligibility requirements.

Upon completion of the program, practitioners will be prepared to integrate acupuncture into their practice, whether the needles are placed for a few minutes for musculoskeletal conditions or half an hour for an energy-balancing approach.

To be eligible to enroll in this program, the participant must be a chiropractic student or a currently licensed chiropractor.

Complete 76 Hours Online, On-Demand

Immediately upon registration, you have access to online courses to complete at your own pace. The online portion does not need to be completed before the in-person lab portion. However, it does need to be completed and passed before taking the NBCE exam.

Pass NBCE Acupuncture Exam

To practice acupuncture in Minnesota or South Dakota, the Board of Chiropractic Examiners requires you to attend this program in its entirety (no hours earned outside this program are accepted) and pass the NBCE acupuncture exam.

Note the NBCE offers the exam every 2 months, and some have experienced it taking 3 weeks to submit to the Board required transcripts and receive approval to register for the exam. Reference the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners website for examination dates and to apply for the exam.

If you plan to practice in another state, contact us for assistance obtaining licensing board approval in your state.  We also recommend you check with your state licensing board about their eligibility requirements.

Complete 24 Hours In-Person

Attend two 12-hour mandatory weekend seminars in Bloomington, MN, without missing time away from your practice (Saturdays & Sundays only!). The in-person lab section will cover the main acupuncture points, point selection based on TCM, and integrating the points with techniques to treat conditions seen in the chiropractic clinic. The Clean Needle and the Acupuncture Needling online course is a pre-requisite to taking the first In-Person lab.

Session 1: March 11 & 12, 2023
Session 2: May 20 & 21, 2023

Pass Program Exams

Online course exams will ensure the educational objectives were successfully met. A 70% or greater score is required on all examinations for successful program completion. If a score of 70% is not achieved, there is one opportunity for repeating the examination. Learners must pass a demonstration and competency evaluation at the end of each in-person lab to complete the 24 in-person hours.

Completing this 100-hour course results in a certificate from Best Practices Academy and eligibility to sit the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) acupuncture examination.
