MACRA, MIPS, and Chiropractic
This 2 hour seminar defines how Doctors of Chiropractic may participate in the new Quality Payment Program as defined by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act 2015 (MACRA) Law.
The law outlines two tracks: the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and the Advanced Alternative Payment Model (APM). The MACRA law outlines the requirements and timeline regarding Medicare payment system changes, with the performance year beginning January 2017.
This seminar will offer information about performance standards and how to achieve these standards for reimbursements in the future. MIPS encompasses and embraces four key categories to qualify for positive payment adjustments for Medicare beginning January of 2017 (Quality, Advancing Care Information, Cost and Improvement Activities). There are several ways to earn the points under these new payment categories. Each point counts in a "MIPS score" (0 to 100) and can significantly change a provider's Medicare reimbursements each year.
